I’m in this stage in my documenting journey where I don’t feel the pressure to bust out my camera every moment my kids are doing something worthy of chronicling. Wasn’t always that way, so it’s been nice to find that balance. I think keeping the camera put away during times I’m actively being present only makes those times I DO decide to take photos only that much sweeter. I enjoy it so much more & I consciously now keep my camera out for an instant before I’m back being actively involved in whatever is going on.
These photos are so special to me because of various reasons. I love this lighting. I couldn’t help but be enamored by the colors I was witnessing with how the light hit the kids & the driveway. The sun sets so much later these days & we were out way past bedtimes playing with a sprinkler that should have been put away a long time ago. My kids were just being kids & I truly relish in those moments where they’re being carefree & happy. Those reasons culminated to encourage me to grab that camera & forever encapsulate this little moment.
