An annual family reunion at grandma’s house on a spectacular property right on the water. This family hired me to simply document their day together, unposed. I spent hours with them, which honestly, is the only way to truly chronicle enough to tell a great story. Documentary entails time so that’s what we planned for & the only way it could have been even more perfect is if I was hired as their lifelong documentary photographer. This family was an absolute blast!
I was greeted by dogs, horses, & shirtless dudes riding golf carts & scooters. A killer start to this fun filled jam packed session.
We started off building a yard game they love to play. I think they broke the machine, but we just kept it going & didn’t tell grandma, “shhhh”.
It was fun to have the freedom to roam wherever I saw fit. I made sure to check every corner in case someone was hanging out there worthy of documentation.
I rode in the golf carts, got to pet horses, hung out on a pier, & drank homebrewed ice coffee. This was just as enjoyable for me as it was for them! I mean, I was out of breath lol, but totally worth the effort.
What a treasure for this family to have these times documented.
Beautiful, Camille!
