Scott + Madi | Elopement | North Carolina

November 6, 2018

Just a couple of hours with two lovebirds in a beautiful location, what a dream!  I have photographed sweet elopements & weddings before & they were absolutely wonderful.  But, the simplicity & ease of this one felt right in line with what I want to do for couples, moving forward, & couldn’t believe how amazing the whole experience was.

They said “I do” in front of a water fountain in historic downtown Elizabeth City, North Carolina, among a small group of their closest friends & family members.  I arrived about 30 minutes before the ceremony to capture the first look & a few portraits.  The ceremony itself lasted maybe 10 minutes & then we were off exploring the little town.  We seriously hiked all over, excited to stop & take photos whenever we noticed a perfect interesting spot.  It was also noon & there was a chance we could have been dealing with strong harsh light, but lucky for us, it was cloudy all day allowing us to practically shoot anywhere we wanted.  It even ended up raining, but that wasn’t going to stop us.  I believe it made the day that more memorable.

If you know of anyone looking to do something similar in 2019 – a small, simple, & intimate elopement – please let them know I am available!
